August 30 - Sep 2

On August 30 to September 2, we will be holding a weekend retreat for Sr High students! The retreat will be an awesome time  hanging out with friends, staying up late, worshipping together, laughing and making great memories! The retreat will be held locally - in the Leamington area - and it will in part be a missional event during which we will spend time working and serving with local organizations that support people in need in our community.

The retreat will be held on the property of the Bartel family and it will be a camping style retreat - we'll be sleeping in tents, and cooking and eating around a campfire!

We've put together all the info you need about the retreat on this page. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact Pastor Xavier at the church office or by email: .

Every student is required to register using the registration form at the bottom of this page to participate in the Sr High retreat.

The Sr High  Retreat starts on August 30 and ends on September 2, 2019.

The retreat will be held on the property of the Bartel family, which is located 10 minutes north of Leamington:

    1336 Mersea Road 7
    Wheatley, ON
    N0P 2P0

We will meet at the retreat site on Friday, August 30 at 1:30pm. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the retreat site.
The retreat will end on Monday, September 2, at 2pm. Students need to be picked up from the retreat site at that time.

All students participating in the retreat need to register!

    To register, simply
fill the online registration form at the bottom of this page. Once you register, you will receive an email confirmation.

    • The cost of the retreat is $70.
    • Meals are included in the cost of the retreat.
    • The full payment is due on August 25, 2019.
    • Payments can be made by cheque or cash. Please make all cheques payable to Meadow Brook.

We understand covering the cost of activities and events such as retreats sometimes can be difficult. Our hope is for all students who wish to be part of the retreat to be able to attend and we certainly don't want the cost to stop anyone from being there! If you need assistance covering the cost of the retreat, please contact Pastor Xavier privately.

The following is a list of everything students should pack:

    • A TENT! We will be sleeping in tents for the duration of the retreat. Students may bring individual tents, or we also encourage students and families to plan together for students to share tents! Tents need to be water proof in case of rain.
    • A tarp to place under tents to keep them dry.
    • Clothes! Enough to last for the weekend.
    • A rain jacket. Rain boots would be a good idea to bring as well!
    • Sleeping bag and a pillow.
    • Sunscreen and bug spray.
    • Lawn chairs.
    • A small backpack and water bottle.
    • Personal hygiene items including toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, towel, etc.
    • A BIBLE
    • DEODORANT - absolutely non-negotiable
    • A stash of candy, snacks and junk food. Be warned though, you will most likely be mooched off and be forced to share!

The following is a list of what NOT pack:

    • Any kind of weapon or item that could cause bodily harm. That includes pocket knives, fireworks, ninja stars, grenade launchers, etc.
    • Any kind of explicit and inappropriate visual or audio material.
We want to remove as many distractions as possible during the retreat. Students are encouraged to leave phones, portable music players, and video game devices at home.

During the entire duration of the retreat, students will be under the supervision of the youth leadership team, which is under the supervision of Pastor Xavier. If that sounds serious, well, that's because it is! Although we take fun very seriously, we take safety more seriously and we want everyone to return home in one piece. Tired and exhausted, but in one piece.

If you need to contact us while we are away at the retreat, you can do so by emailing Pastor Xavier at or calling him on his cellphone: 519.329.1745.
